Surrey Church Major Incident Plan

What do we do in Guildford in the event of a major incident or civil emergency?

Church and other faith groups are involved in Civil Emergency planning structures in Surrey and Hampshire. This is co-ordinated by Jon Warnke, working closely with the Communities Engagement Team.

If a 'major incident' is declared, representatives of Key Agencies - Police, Fire and Rescue, local Councils etc - work together to provide a co-ordinated response. The current flooding is a case in point. In such an event, we need to co-ordinate our own responses. This is best undertaken locally, supported by Diocesan wide networks. The Diocesan Communications Team have created a dedicated webpage which is being kept up to date with key resources such as insurance, live news feeds and volunteering appeals, as they are needed.

Please continue to pray for all those affected by the floods in Surrey and elsewhere and for a change in the weather.
