The diocese will not shortlist any curate in a title post for any post of responsibility for which the closing date for applications is before 30th June in their third year since ordination. This is to ensure that such curates have done three full years in ministry before being considered for a new post, and to ensure absolute parity for all curates, whichever diocese they come from.

House for Duty Priests

'House for Duty' is an arrangement whereby a priest can live in a Parsonage House in exchange for carrying out certain duties in a parish, but without receiving a stipend.

This may suit a minister on a pension (church or otherwise), or a self-supporting minister who receives an income in some other way, which allows time for ministry.

It is vital that anyone exploring this opportunity should be able to assure themselves and the Archdeacon that they have sufficient income to afford to live under these circumstances.

Psalm 89:1 I will sing of your steadfast love, O LORD, forever; with my mouth I will proclaim your faithfulness to all generations.  Contributed by the Revd Sarah Hutton, Spiritual Growth Facilitator for the diocese
