Steve’s passion, since coming to faith from a non-Christian background has been to enable others to embark on the same life long journey with Jesus Christ. He was ordained in 1980 and has since spent 30 years as curate, incumbent and Area Dean in various parishes in North London.
He hopes to provide a listening ear, and a gently exploratory perspective to assist others in working out their mission. It’s usually easier to think in conversation than in isolation, and Steve hopes to help by being an informed participant in the conversations. He does not come with all (or even most) of the answers, but as ‘a voice from outside’ your local situation he may be able to ask some helpful questions, lend some new perspectives, or put parishes in touch with resources or people to help them develop their discernment of God’s leading.
Steve’s committed to advising on, and supporting, all aspects of ‘growing communities of faith and engagement’, and is available for consultation more specifically on:
- Fresh expressions and reaching the unreached
- Mission from a traditional church base
- Faith sharing and evangelism
- Growing Healthy Churches
- Leadership issues, ( including mentoring and work consultancy)
- Developing vision and strategy for growth, (incl. Parish Vision Days)
- Whole life discipleship
- Team building
- Cell Church
- Closing The Back Door of The Church (Helping members to grow and stay)
- Faith and work issues
- Welcome and hospitality
He also hopes to be able to act as a ‘clearing house’ to put people in touch to help each other. If you have something you’d like others to know about, tell Steve. This may be ‘something that works’, or it might be a challenge you are facing that it would be good to share with others who are in the same place.
