Administration Apprentice - (Carer Support)

Full time role based in Guildford
Salary of £10,500 + 15% Pension Contribution

This role will help support to work of the CET in working across the whole of Surrey and North East Hampshire, supporting their work with carers. The role will be supported by a programme of work, study and training designed to develop the skills and abilities in order to achieve a nationally recognised qualification. The right candidate should be willing to undertake a programme designed to develop the skills and abilities of the Apprentice to achieve a level 2 or 3 NVQ qualification in Business Administration. The role is funded and supported by Surrey County Council, Adult Services. The post is initially for one year.

Finance Assistant (School Estates and Academies Support)

This is a full time post split between work at the Education Centre, Stag Hill, Guildford GU2 7UP and another Guildford based venue
Salary of £19,000 + benefits package

Key Tasks

School Buildings and ICT Projects

• Set up and maintain annual spreadsheets and related filing systems for each school
• Open building project records under supervision; reconcile and close completed projects
• Keep accurate records of the availability of approved funding for schools and process requests to use these funds under supervision
• Accurately track the financial record of building projects
• Assist with calculating and amending budgets
• Monitor funds and the transfer of funds as necessary, and assist with end-of-year returns
• Collaborate with the Finance Team to ensure the smooth operation of the school building projects' financial system

Diocese's Academies Operation

• Adopt relevant working practices in accordance with the government's procedures
• Process income and expenditure invoices
• maintain accurate databases and spreadsheets under the direction of the Finance Officer
• Assist in the productionof monthly management accounts for school bursars and the academies trust
• Assist in the provision of forecasts and financial reports for statutory and non-statutory purposes

• Proven financial competency
• Successful experience in administrative work
• Excellent IT skills
• Confidence to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds
• An ability to learn and then work effectively in a new business environment
