Pop a faith egg in your basket this Easter!
30 January 2012

After its successful launch last year the Real Easter Egg has returned giving shoppers the chance to buy a Fairtrade chocolate egg which tells the Easter story.
The Rt Revd Ian Brackley is supporting the egg made by the Meaningful Chocolate Company which this year not only shows three crosses on its brightly-coloured box but features a quote from the Bible, shows the Easter story in a colourful storyboard form and includes a booklet for children to keep and parents to share.
Fifteen pence from each egg (price £3.99) is given to charity with more than £21,000 donated to Traidcraft exchange in 2011.
Bishop Ian said: "We all love clebrating Easter with a chocolate egg. Now we can support Fairtrade at the same time and know that a donation is being made to charity.
"The story of the risen Lord is told in a simple colourful strip on the box - the real Easter story there for everyone to see! Enjoy your Real Easter Egg."Churches and schools or individuals can order the egg online with free delivery if downloadable order forms are returned with payment.
