Be a Cathedral Chorister for a Day
19 September 2012
CHILDREN ARE INVITED TO JOIN THE CATHEDRAL CHOIR this Saturday as part of their annual event ‘Be a Chorister for a Day’.
Open to all boys aged 6-8 and girls aged 8-11, the event is run by the music department of Guildford Cathedral under the direction of Katherine Dienes-Williams, Organist and Master of the Choristers, and is an excellent opportunity for boys and girls to experience the thrills of singing and being part of the Cathedral Choir.
Tea and tours for parents
Running from 2 – 6pm, as the children are whisked off to rehearse, parents will be given a guided tour of the Cathedral, information about the life of a chorister and afternoon tea followed by a question and answer session.
Parents will then be able to attend the public choir rehearsal at 4pm, before Evensong starts at 5pm.
All friends and relatives are invited to this service to hear your child sing in the Cathedral choir.
Pre-booking is essential as spaces are limited.
