Diocesan Board of Education

The Guildford Diocesan Board of Education's constitution was agreed by the Diocesan Synod in 1991 in accordance with the Diocesan Board of Education Measure 1991. Trustees and Governors of Church Voluntary Schools in the Diocese are bound by law to consult the Board before making any agreement or arrangement with the Secretary of State, the Charity Commission or the local education authority with respect to re-arrangement, amalgamation, discontinuance, sale, letting or other dealings with such schools.

The 1991 Measure has given the Board a composition significantly different from that of the Education Council which it replaced.
