Ash Wednesday (tomorrow) marks the start of the season of Lent. As a season of reflection, many choose to remove themselves from everyday temptations in a very purposeful approach. Others decide to take up a life-giving practice.
Whether you're giving up or taking up something, we would encourage you to look through our Lent resources this year.
We will be following the national Church’s ‘Dust & Glory’ Lent theme. This builds on the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Lent book for 2023, ‘Failure: What Jesus said about sin, mistakes and messing stuff up’. There are plenty of great resources to make use of, whether for individuals or groups, young or old.
As well as the national campaign and resources, closer to home our Education Team have produced an interactive online Lent calendar for primary and secondary school-aged children. Much like an advent calendar, you can open a window a day over the Lent season. Each window contains an image, Bible reference, video link, thoughts to ponder and an act of kindness. We’d love to hear how you make use of them.
