The Partnerships Adviser is a key role for both the Communities Engagement Team and the diocese. Having strong productive relationships with stakeholders and partners across Surrey and North East Hampshire, including local authorities, health and the wider voluntary, community and faiths sector enables the diocese to be a voice for faith groups, be relevant and influence policy and service provision across the two counties. Understanding the priorities, pressures and concerns of our stakeholders and partners ensures the work of the parishes and the diocese is appropriate to the needs of our communities. Without such relationships, it is more difficult to make progress, tackle social injustices and be a trusted voice of reason. Working together or alongside other organisations reduces duplication and improves effectiveness and efficiency.
This role enables introductions and facilitates discussion around a range of issues including community activities, planning, use of buildings, consultations on service provision and education. It is therefore pertinent to the delivery of the Transforming Church Transforming Lives vision of the diocese as it can contribute to a number of the goals.
This role develops and strengthens trusting relationships with our key stakeholders and partners in order to :
- raise awareness of how the Diocese of Guildford and its parishes can and do support our communities with our wider partners and stakeholders;
- identify opportunities where the diocese can positively contribute that are of mutual benefit to parishes, chaplaincies, the diocese and wider stakeholders; and
- facilitate discussions with our stakeholders in relation to wider diocesan issues as appropriate
