Ministry Review

The Diocesan policy and practice is summarised in the document 'Guidelines for Ministry Review'. The key thing to note is that the system is built on the twin pillars of Affirmation and Accountability and has the Ordinal as its foundation document. It is for all clergy who hold the Bishop’s Licence.

The Ministry Review Team

The team comprises the Bishops of Guildford and Dorking, the Archdeacons of Dorking and Surrey, the Director of Discipleship, Vocation and Ministry, the two Assistant Archdeacons, the Dean and Canon Robert Cotton. The Administrator is Alison Bishop:

This process is in addition to internal annual appraisals and does not include curates in IME 4 - 7 who have their own extensive assessment and review process called  ‘Assessing the End of Curacy’.

The Review will happen in alternate years but this does not preclude any clergy person asking to meet a member of senior staff at other times to discuss their ministry or pastoral and personal concerns.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.
