The role of the Church Heritage & Tourism Adviser is to receive and gather appropriate information and share across the diocese and parishes to develop the opportunities afforded by Church Tourism for both making our historic churches more available for visitors and for helping our churches to encourage visitors to see beyond the history and along their own journey of faith.
Does your Parish have any connection with
the Pilgrim Fathers?
If so please contact me, as next year, 2020 is the 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower over to America. I know that Dorking parish is one and that a local business; with a strong connection itself, is keen to work with the local churches in that area.
If you do have any connections, please contact me and I can advise you with suggestions etc. as to how to promote your parish and church and hopefully to link up with the Dioceses that are involved and to try to coordinate what will be happening and at what time of year.
Many thanks and blessings, Rev Carol Dunk – The Diocesan Tourism adviser

Church Tourism; what is it all about and what can it do for your church and growing God’s Kingdom?
Church Tourism is all about people visiting our churches for numerous reasons, but hopefully they will leave with a good feeling about the place and the seed of God planted firmly within their hearts and minds.
