Growth Fund

The Growth Fund exists to enable new initiatives in the Diocese of Guildford which further the Diocesan strategy of Transforming Church, Transforming Lives.

  • Fixed Grants and Small Grants (up to £500): Applications for fixed and small grants can be made at any time – there are no set application dates – and will be assessed within 3 weeks.
  • Medium Grants (up to £5,000 in one year or up to £10,000 over 3 years)

  • Large Grants (over £5,000 in one year or over £10,000 over 3 years):

What type of project can apply for support?

  • The Fund provides seed monies for projects aimed at creating growth.
  • Priority will be given to projects which would be unlikely to be possible without external support.
  • Projects must be proposed by a PCC or group of PCCs and have a clear and substantial link to the ministry of the Parish Church.
  • Projects should be able to demonstrate that they are addressing mission opportunities in a new way.
  • Projects should be able to demonstrate plans for a long term financial vitality or have a clear fixed term aim.
  • Parishes should be paying Parish Share (in full) by standing order or in an agreed “turnaround” situation.
  • Parishes are expected to be making an appropriate level of contribution to the project themselves.
  • Parishes will need to complete an annual review for each year they receive funds.
  • Funding can be up to 3 years, usually on a decreasing scale.

Grants are available at four levels
