Safeguarding Contacts

The Church of England aspires to the highest possible standards with regard to the care and protection of children in its care through different areas of church life.

Ian Berry acts for the Diocese of Guildford to ensure the highest standards of safeguarding are maintained for all children and adults. A priority for us is promotion of good practice in safeguarding, ensuring an appropriate pastoral and professional response to concerns and issues. Ian has a background in Child Protection, and since 2005 has been directly involved in the safeguarding of children and young people.

Ian Berry is available for immediate advice relating to
  • Any church member informing a vicar or rector that they/someone else has a history of offending
  • Any invitations to attend MAPPA meetings or place a released offender in church
  • Concerns about the behaviour or conduct of someone in a church
