St Andrew’s Farnham sits in the heart of the town-centre. For many years the worship patterns have been settled: the style of the main services has been familiar and predictable, little seems to have changed from week to week. This is both a strength and a potential weakness.
In the drawing up of a profile for the new Rector to work with the PCC (2016), it was apparent that change in these patterns was both looked for and welcomed. Over the past two years we have been making changes to respond to a new demographic, honouring the gift of the past but wanting to explore more contemporary expressions of worship also. Part of this is the introduction of a new Sound and Vision system this coming autumn.
Farnham is blessed by the presence of several churches of varying denominations. We are keen to identify, celebrate and deliver the unique musical contribution St Andrew’s can make to this town-wide scene, drawing on the very best of the traditional and the new.
