A Glimpse of God's Kingdom are a set of Assemblies / Collective Worships for use in primary schools. Each assembly has a script and a PowerPoint. These assemblies have themes taken from The Beatitudes, part of Jesus sermon on the mount.  In these assemblies each of the beatitudes has been linked to a Christian value which is part of the title of the assembly. The first assembly is an introduction to the theme.

This focus on God's kingdom is to enable school to be part of the Thy Kingdom Come initiative in May 2018.

The assemblies could be used by school staff or by church visitors taking school assemblies. They are suitable for use in non-church schools although may require some adaptation to the prayer / reflection to suit the school's usual practice

In the beatitudes Jesus gave a picture of what life in the kingdom of God will be like. These phrases can be distilled into values. Values that permeate the kingdom of God.

This is a set of prayer stations around these values of God’s kingdom. For each prayer station there information about setting it up and templates for the labels. Schools may wish to adapt these to suit their pupils.

The Kingdom Of Heaven

The Beatitudes Poetry Unit for Years 5&6.

This publication is the first in a series designed to support teachers in integrating the RE curriculum with the teaching of English – particularly writing. It is intended to compliment children’s developing knowledge and understanding of Christianity – and in particular some key aspects of the Bible, encouraging deeper comprehension and reflection. In addition, it is also hoped that the extracts from the Bible can be seen as powerful texts, providing an excellent model for the development of children’s reading and writing skills.
