Statistics for Mission

16-IMG_4424The Church of England collects data on attendance and finance from all its parishes. These two strands are the backbone of strategic decisions at parish, deanery, diocesan and national level, and vital indices of the health of our Church and churches. Locally, the Diocese of Guildford uses attendance to apportion parish share and other resources. The information below is designed to guide you through the process of completing the form as smoothly as possible. They can be a pain, but they serve a very important purpose, so please make sure you’re ahead of the game.

The following document has been prepared to give guidance to those who submit parish returns.

“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in his field;

it is the smallest of all the seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.”

Matthew 13:31
