The sixteenth century Spanish Carmelite mystic, St John of the Cross, has widely been misunderstood. His association with the term ‘dark night of the soul’ has given him an unjustifiable association with doom, gloom and despondency. Yet,as we read his writings and listen to his poetry during our day together, we shall see that this vibrant and original writer well justifies the title ‘Master of Prayer’. No previous knowledge is required and the event is open to all.
