People of Faith play for the WPOF Charity Trophy

Date: 02 April 2012

Woking People of Faith charity works to facilitate understanding of differences in faith and culture for the good of the whole of Woking’s community. The charity runs a number of events which help to build friendships, educate and serve the community. Following last year’s great success, the charity is holding another ‘People of Faith’ football tournament at Winston Churchill School Sports Centre on Saturday 26th May 2012.

5-a-side teams from local churches, mosques and football clubs will play against one another in a number of rounds, ending with the grand final. Woking's Mayor Elect, Cllr Michael Smith, has been invited to present the torphy and medals to the winning teams. The event begins at 10 am, ending with the grand final at about 3pm followed by the prize-giving. The charity is serving lunch for the players at about 1pm and a number of families are expected to attend, making it a fun day of activity and action for all.
