“Skydiving is fun, the fundraising is harder…” – Joy, 84

Date: 17 May 2012
High-flying 84-year-old Joy Stone is at it again – this time in aid of Guide Dogs for the Blind – in her third leap of faith from 13,000 feet in July.

Joy, a very active member of Bookham Baptist Church and with connections to St Nicolas’ Church, Great Bookham, is so grateful for her own guide dog Lomax that she wants to give something back. “Guide Dogs is a charity with no government funding. Simply speaking, financially it costs £100 per minute of every day to keep the charity operating for all the blind and partially sighted people, including children,” she explained.

“Skydiving is fun, the fundraising is harder though. I do understand that this year has been difficult financially for most people, but however small the amount you feel you can sponsor me for my skydive, I would be most grateful.”

Joy has a JustGiving page set up where donating is simple, fast and totally secure. Find out more here

Then afterward
    I will pour out my spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

    and your young men shall see visions.
