Christ's College Guildford amasses shoebox mountain

Date: 03 December 2012
Students and staff at Christ's College threw themselves behind Operation Christmas Child's 'Shoebox Appeal' filling the school hall with a tangible demonstration of seasonal goodwill this December.

Every year group, from Year 7 to the Sixth Form, filled shoeboxes with toys and gifts with tutor group 8S winning the competition for the biggest contribution, managing an amazing 28 boxes!

English teacher Mrs Johnston said: 'This means that 142 children, who would have had nothing, will have something to unwrap at Christmas.

'We are very proud of our relationship with Operation Christmas Child and feel that it is an important project to be a part of.

'Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this year a success. Special thanks must go to Director of Worship Mr Payne and the wonderful ladies in the office! We look forward to an even more amazing amount of shoeboxes next year.'
