Road closures planned for Sunday as 20,000 cyclists hit Surrey's roads

Date: 29 July 2013
CHURCH access will be disrupted in many towns and villages this Sunday (Aug 4) as the first ever Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100 takes place.

The race will be an exciting and positive event for Surrey, but on the flipside, may cause particular inconvenience for those wishing to get to church close to the route. Surrey County Council have acknowledged this and have set up a helpline (0845 894 9773) Twitter: @GoSurreyLive.

This event will bring a large amount of footfall to the area, so if your church is on or near to the marked routes, it’s worth being prepared for some extra visitors!

“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in his field;

it is the smallest of all the seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.”

Matthew 13:31
