Open meeting on women bishops - Thursday 9 and Monday 13 January

Date: 08 January 2014
Two meetings on Women Bishops this week

Diocesan Secretary, Stephen Marriott writes: "This is to remind you of the two meetings which were organised last year to keep interested clergy and lay people informed and advised about where the Church of England is in its quest to have women ordained as bishops.

"These are not designed to put anybody on the spot, or to challenge individual opinions, but to ensure good communication of national processes and to honour the intelligent interest which so many of you have expressed.

"These are open meetings – both open to lay people and clergy – and the content will be the same at both."

Thursday 9th January at 7.30pm at Guildford Cathedral

Monday 13th January at 2.00pm at St Paul’s Church, Oriental Road, Woking GU22 7BD

“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in his field;

it is the smallest of all the seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.”

Matthew 13:31
