Pray for those affected by the flooding

Date: 11 February 2014
WE ENCOURAGE PEOPLE to pray for those affected by the ongoing flooding in our area.

Egham, Egham Hythe and Chertsey are all now seeing serious flooding and evacuations, not just along the River Thames but in low lying communities, where drains are overflowing. Several thousand homes are in the serious flood warning area and many have been evacuated.

Surrey Police has confirmed that the continuing rise of water levels is being treated as a "major incident" and Environment Agency regional director for the South East, Howard Davidson, added "we haven't seen rainfall like this for 250 years."

Archdeacon of Dorking, the Venerable Paul Bryer said:

Then afterward
    I will pour out my spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
    your old men shall dream dreams,
    and your young men shall see visions.
