Churches unite in action against human trafficking

Date: 16 October 2014
Freedom Sunday, a global day of prayer, action and worship on issues around human trafficking, takes place this Sunday (19 October).
Curate at Holy Trinity Church, Guildford the Revd Jane Vlach is a member of the Human Trafficking Foundation advisory forum and after a special service at the church will be holding a discussion session to raise awareness. She said: "We need effective legislation to bring the perpetrators of human trafficking to justice. Communities such as the Church of England can play a significant part not only in acting against injustice but also in offering an alternative reality. “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in his field;

it is the smallest of all the seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.”

Matthew 13:31
