Services and Support

We offer this support to all our Church schools and academies through a range of education associates who provide consultancy and services which are available through our annual Service Level Agreements

Our School Services

The Diocesan Board of Education offers support and services to all our Church of England schools and academies and the schools in our wider family.

We expect all church schools to offer a good or outstanding education to their pupils. We monitor school performance, intervening as necessary, help schools to make strong senior leadership appointments, promote their interests in school organisational reviews and as they administer admissions policies.

We provide school improvement services to enable schools to deliver high quality teaching and learning and wider educational services including governor support, training and admissions advice. We also provide high quality building services to ensure that the quality of a school's built environment meets the needs of twenty first century education.

School Improvement Services

The drive for excellence and effectiveness in all church schools is of paramount importance to Guildford Diocese Education.

Our school improvement does not aim to replicate the statutory challenge and offer from the local authority, instead we provide unique training, consultancy and support. Our aim is to walk alongside schools, supporting them in providing high quality education inspired by Christian values, so that children may face the future with confidence.

Our high calibre officers and consultants, who have all been headteachers, bring a wealth of expertise from a wide range of education disciplines with a proven track record of success. Our provision covers the following broad areas:

  • Christian distinctiveness of church schools
  • School effectiveness, through a team of education consultants
  • Continuing professional development for headteachers and governors

Designed specifically for church schools and church school academies within Guildford Diocese, we offer a tiered annual agreement, encompassing these three aspects of school improvement, called Education Services to Schools. Through this partnership we can respond both proactively and appropriately, so schools can benefit from the best possible service at the best value available. Find out how Education Services to Schools can benefit your school.
