The Rt Revd Andrew Watson, Bishop of Guildford said:
“I was shocked to hear about the offensive graffiti that appeared on the Epsom Islamic Centre on Tuesday morning, just as I was horrified at the murderous attack on the Manchester synagogue on the holiest day of the Jewish year. Our country has a proud history of respect towards those of other faiths and cultures; and I pray that we might continue to build on that history, not least as we seek to be an example for other parts of the world where freedom of religion or belief is quite so imperilled.”
