The Energy Footprint Tool (EFT) is now open for 2026. Completing the EFT is an important step on our shared journey to net zero and caring for God’s creation.
Haslemere Parish is proving that age is no barrier to protecting God’s creation and engaging the whole community in creation care. When Verity Sutherland started in her role as Children’s and Families Worker at Haslemere Parish (Diocese of Guildford) in September 2021, she wanted to give the children opportunities to join in with what God was already doing in their local community.
The diocesan Net Zero team has today announced the first 10 parishes to join its pioneers programme – a two-year collaboration between the churches and the diocese to accelerate the participating parishes towards complete decarbonisation.
This Creationtide (1 September- 4 October), the Dioceses of Chichester, Guildford and Portsmouth are joining the call for churches to switch to a green energy tariff to help reduce their carbon emissions.
Half of the churches in the Diocese of Guildford have received an Eco Church award (in the bronze, silver or gold categories) which cements the Diocese’s position as one of the leading lights in creation care.
The Diocese of Guildford currently has the highest number of Gold Eco Churches in the UK. The prestigious credential awarded by the Christian environmental charity, A Rocha UK, has been bestowed on five of the Diocese’s churches.
In January, the seven buildings across the diocese were awarded the Silver Eco Church Award, taking our awards tally over the century mark. Well done to all our Eco Churches!
