Two online 2021 Advent Calendars for schools are launched today (December 1st).
The Guildford Diocese Education team have online calendars for both primary and secondary schools to enjoy during Advent 2021. Each day the calendar feature a Bible story or some words that explore the topic of welcome and inclusion. They echo the theme of the schools’ art exhibition at Guildford Cathedral for Christmas 2021 ‘Everyone’s Welcome’.
“We had a lot of fun putting these together,” says Jane Whittington from the Education Team. “We hope that children and families across the diocese and beyond enjoy discovering the treasures we have hidden behind the doors,” she says.
Each day children will find a thought provoking image, some ‘wondering’ questions, a video and a reference to a bible passage. Like all good Advent calendars these run up to Christmas Eve but the doors only open on or after the date. So no cheating allowed!
The online Advent calendars are not only for children in schools, they could be used by families and church youth and children’s groups.
