You’re invited to the Diocese’s annual Church Growth Conference

Alpha pioneer, Nicky Gumbel, will be amongst the twenty speakers at the event which enables clergy and lay leaders from parishes to hear some of Britain’s leading communicators of the gospel and experts in church growth. It’s a day of inspirational practical ideas and support to help deliver growth in your church.

This one-day conference will be held at St Paul’s Howell Hill next Wednesday (22 November, 10am-4pm) and will be opened by Bishop Andrew who commented, "This conference presents a wonderful opportunity for church leaders to bring their lay and ordained teams, and those who may have the potential to help lead in the future, to be inspired and equipped. I hope you can join us."

The morning session will include an extended interview with Alpha course pioneer, Nicky Gumbel who will be drawing upon his experience of church leadership and evangelism to explore how churches can enter into a new season of growth. The Rt Revd Bev Mason, Bishop of Warrington and a trustee of Leading your Church into Growth, will be presenting on how to develop a church growth strategy suited to your context and tradition. Rounding off the morning will be Rachel Gardner, Relationship Lead for Youthscape, on how to build an intergenerational church. There will then be a Q&A session with all the morning speakers.

Attendees will then have the opportunity to dig deeper and learn about what works in your different parish contexts as the afternoon splits into different streams led by the Diocesan team of Mission Enablers alongside other speakers. One stream is on Community Engagement & Faith Sharing and the other will focus on Growing Your Ministry to Children, Families and Young People. Both will be highly practical and will draw upon the experience of the fastest-growing churches in the Diocese and nationwide.

The event is being organised by the Revd David Senior, Mission Enabler for Stewardship and Evangelism at the Diocese, who commented, "The conference is an opportunity to encounter God and be encouraged in mission as we worship together, hear speakers of national or international standing, network with others in church leadership and gather resources for our parishes. There will also be a big emphasis on how to discover your leadership role and the wide range of training and development opportunities now on offer in our Diocese. Please join us in praying that lives and churches will be greatly impacted by this event."

This is a wonderful opportunity for your whole team to be inspired by some of the leading communicators of the gospel, be equipped by specialists in church growth and get encouraged by practical case studies from across the Diocese.
