Bringing worship out into the open: Pirbright and Wyke’s revitalisation

Just two years ago, Pirbright and Wyke was facing demographic challenges and possible church closures. When The Revd George Watkinson was asked to come and lead the revitalisation of Pirbright and Wyke, the immediate challenge he faced was the inconspicuous location of St Michael’s Church, tucked away at the end of a country lane. This led to George’s brainchild, ‘Church on the Green’.

Leatherhead- a parish revitalised

Just a few years ago, Leatherhead Parish Church had a congregation of 40 and hadn’t held an adult baptism for generations. Since becoming part of the Holy Trinity Brompton (HTB) network of churches, and being supported by the Diocese’s Revitalisation stream, Leatherhead has gone from strength to strength.

Lay ministers ready to light up the diocese

Saturday morning will see the diocese hold its first ever Lay Ministry Celebration service at Guildford Cathedral, as we mark the Foundations in Ministry's inaugural cohort completing the two-year course alongside the licensing and relicensing of our new and current Licensed Lay Ministers.
