Modern Day Slavery & Human Trafficking

Modern Day Slavery and Human Trafficking is Here !!

The Clewer Initiative is a 3 year project to enable Church of England dioceses and wider Church networks to develop strategies to detect modern slavery in our community. It seeks to bring recognition and support by raising awareness of all aspects of modern slavery and helping to mobilise the local church.

Will you help us to help raise awareness, to help those enslaved, trafficked?

Over the Easter season, those who may be victims of modern slavery could be attending our churches. Help raise awareness of the support available to these people by printing and prominently displaying the poster (PDF).

A free talk is available to your church & community.

Human Trafficking & Slavery is a serious crime and a grave violation of human rights. Every year, thousands of men, women and children fall into the hands of traffickers, here in the UK and abroad. Almost every country in the world is affected by trafficking, slavery whether as a country of origin, transit or destination for victims. Can we recognise trafficking, slavery  in our community?  Is it on our doorstep? Let’s raise our awareness to end this modern motorway misery.

“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in his field;

it is the smallest of all the seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.”

Matthew 13:31
