2025 Worship Service Leaders Course
An introductory course for lay leaders who are called to serve as service leaders in their parish.
This is a four-session course, running on the evenings of Wednesdays 7, 14 & 21 May (7.30-9.30 pm) plus the morning of Saturday 14 June, to be held at a venue TBC.
The course is led by Revd Nick Hutchinson, Vicar of Wisley with Pyrford, and Helen Roche and William Lowries, both Licensed Lay Ministers.
This is NOT a free course; the course fees are £120 but they are paid upon completion of the course. Booking a ticket via Eventbrite reserves your place on the course. The course fees are normally covered by the PCC in support of the applicant; however, there may be occasions where participants opt to self-fund.
The course covers:
- What is worship?
- Planning worship
- The dynamics of worship
- All-age worship
- Technology in worship
- Common Worship
Participants also prepare and deliver a short act of worship as part of the course.
We are committed to ensuring that everyone has completed the correct level of Safeguarding Training for their role. The Worship Service Leader must complete Core Safeguarding training (Basic and Foundation).
