Salary:

40,690 - 44,280pa (FTE) pro-rata

Description:

The Diocese of Guildford is looking for an inspiring Schools Officer for Christian Distinctiveness who will be the lead officer supporting the development of the Christian character of our 83 Church of England schools in the Diocese of Guildford.

The key responsibility of this role is to contribute to the development of the Christian distinctiveness of Church of England schools and academies within the Diocese through providing high quality training for teachers and governors on Religious Education, Collective Worship, and Spiritual and Moral Development. The role will also develop a supportive network of practitioners through school visits and one-to-one meetings; encourage greater collaboration between schools and their local parish church; and organise and support events for church schools.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have senior leadership experience in a primary or secondary school context.
  • Have good knowledge of the Christian Distinctiveness of the Church of England Schools.
  • Have excellent subject knowledge of the R.E. and Collective Worship in a Church school context.

This role carries a genuine occupational requirement for the post-holder to be a practising Christian in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
