St Michael’s Church in Sheerwater needs your help to provide a much-needed Community Hub. It won’t cost you anything and only takes a couple of clicks to show your support.
Planning Permission was granted for the new Community Hub in January this year, but now they need to find a new source of funding for the refurbishment.
Surrey County Council manages “Your Fund Surrey” for worthwhile community projects, which St Michael’s plans to apply for, the first stage of which is to get public support.
The refurbishment and extension of St Michael’s church building will allow it to function as a Community Hub, enabling more local clubs and organisations to make use of its space and local residents to drop in for a chat and tea or coffee.
The space will also enable MASCOT (Maybury and Sheerwater Community Trust) to come into the hub with us and continue its great work and outreach with career support, computer use, hearing aid support, foodbank, Citizens Advice Bureau and more.
